234th MONTHLY EDITION JULY 2025 “MARATHON SPYDER WEEKEND“ Building Community on 3 Wheels!

Good morning, Fellow members,
What a weekend! Over two glorious days of perfect weather, we joined an incredible crew of riders from the Gold Coast for over 700kms of open-road connection and community.

Saturday:
We hit the Bruce Highway with the Chariots of Light, cruising from the Gold Coast to Rick’s Garage on the Sunshine Coast. Great meals, even better service, and a laid-back, electric atmosphere with the Band.

Sunday:
The engines revved again for the JSW Powersports Can-Am Run, this time with 32 Spyders & Rykers rolling out from the Gold Coast to the Bearded Dragon in Mt.Tamborine. More great food, great vibes, and a growing community of passionate riders.

It’s amazing what happens when people come together around shared passions. The Facebook group we launched just 6 weeks ago, Gold Coast Spyder & Ryker Riders, has grown to over 60 members, mostly retirees who are making the most of life with weekday rides through rainforest-lined roads, hinterland views, and fresh country air.

This weekend reminded me:

• Teams aren’t just in business — they’re in the everyday.
• Connection fuels momentum — whether in boardrooms or on winding roads.
• Community is everything.

Today, Annette and I celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.
Half a century ago, we entered into a lifelong partnership... one built on trust, shared values, continuous growth, and the ability to adapt through change. Like any long-term venture, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but it’s been deeply rewarding.

Together, we’ve navigated life’s ups and downs, raised three wonderful children, and are now blessed with two beautiful grandchildren. Through challenges, we leaned on each other. When one stumbled, the other stood strong.
It’s a reminder that lasting success — in life and in business — comes from teamwork, commitment, resilience, and a shared vision.

To Annette — thank you for being my co-founder in life. Your loyalty, grace, and ability to turn obstacles into opportunities have been inspiring.
